Individual Therapy

Understanding what to expect in therapy can make the process more comfortable. At Balanced Living Therapy, a licensed behavioral health agency, you'll work one-on-one with a clinician who listens and works collaboratively with you in a nonjudgmental space.

Individuals seek therapy for many reasons, such as depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, self-esteem, or difficulty understanding and managing emotions. Several of our clinicians are trained in EMDR and work with first responders and others carrying job-related trauma. Sessions are 50 minutes, offered in person or by telehealth.

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Evaluation

We provide professional SUD evaluations for clients seeking:

Court-ordered or mandated assessment (DUI, probation, diversion, etc.)
Level-of-care and treatment recommendations (including ASAM when applicable)
Documentation for treatment planning, voluntary or required

Pricing & Clinic Billing Policy
Substance Use Disorder evaluations are a separate clinical service from Mental Health diagnostic intakes or therapy biopsychosocial assessments.

Self-pay/Cash price: $300
Medicaid (Washington Apple Health/Managed Medicaid plans): Coverage varies by plan. We ask clients to verify benefits directly with their plan before scheduling and confirm whether our clinic is approved as a billing provider for this evaluation type.
Commercial/Private insurance: We do not bill commercial/private insurance plans for SUD evaluations.
Documentation: When completed as self-pay, we provide a paid clinical receipt/superbill.

Payment Expectations

If your Medicaid plan does not allow clinic billing for this evaluation, the $300 self-pay fee is due at the time of assessment.
If your Medicaid plan confirms coverage and clinic billing eligibility, we will bill Medicaid directly and no payment is collected at assessment.

Couples Counseling

There are times in a relationship when the challenges feel overwhelming, making it seem impossible to find common ground. While starting couples counseling early is ideal, many couples wait until things become unmanageable. Often, they may not realize they're reaching a critical point or struggle to acknowledge the issues at hand.

Relationship work is a specialty here, so not every clinician on our team takes couples. We'll match you with one who's trained in it. Several of our therapists work in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). They see couples across all relationship structures, including non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships.

Couples come in for a lot of reasons. Some are worn down by ongoing conflict or distance. Others are dealing with a specific strain and want help before it does more damage. A few of the common ones:

Frequent conflict or arguing
Resentment or constant criticism
Growing distance or loss of intimacy
Rebuilding trust after infidelity
Financial stress
A major loss or life change (a death, a serious illness, kids leaving home, a job change)
Feeling hopeless or shut out of the relationship
